The rally of hope for Gilad ShalitSamedi 26 Juin 2010
Gilad Shalit: This name is not very known to the general public. Yet it is one of a French-Israeli hostages kidnapped four years ago in Israel by Palestinian organizations " of resistance" (Sic).
For four years, this young boy at the age of just 19 years when he was kidnapped, languished in a prison of Hamas, without ever having the right to be visited by an NGO or could - but unfortunately the comment will make smile - talk counsel of a lawyer.
Yesterday evening on the "Esplanade of Human Rights" in Paris, ten thousand people have requested his release. Hail to the brave men and women of all backgrounds, for whom kidnapping an hostage and holding him in appalling detention conditions, is still a crime that deserves that one cares. Along with many Jewish organizations, many associations have expressed their solidarity. Hail to the presence of representatives of CRAN (French Blacks Representative Council), which show yet again their commitment to the values of dialogue and democracy. We also welcomed particularly the presence of numerous elected officials of the Nation, first Anne Hidalgo, assistant mayor of Paris and Claude Goasguen, deputy mayor of the 16th district of Paris, which reminded both that nothing could justify the fate of Gilad. May their words be heard, may the release of Gilad happen quickly and may the Middle East finally know a just peace. Connec'Sion
